TaylorMade r7 SuperQuad TP Driver (L/H Graphite)

Product Features:

  • 1 degree open clubface alignment is pleasing to the skilled player's eye and promotes confidence and accuracy
  • Six movable weights in four ports allow 102 CG locations, 18 at standard swingweight. (Included two 1g, two 12g, one 10g and one 14g weights)
  • Massive 460cc clubhead combined with TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology produces an extremely-high eMOI* that exceeds 5800 (USGA conforming)
  • Exceptionally low-deep CG and massive clubface area is easy to launch on a  high, strong trajectory for long carry and phenomenal distance
  • TaylorMade RE*AX shafts by Fujikura reduce ovaling in the mid-section and promotes stability, consistency and increased clubhead speed
  • All-Black 460cc clubhead
* Effective MOI (eMOI) is the positive influence on ball speed on off-center hits that's exerted by the combined effects of a driver's MOI and clubface technology (versus constant-thickness clubfaces). eMOI in TaylorMade drivers is dramatically higher, and more valuable in terms of its affect on ball speed, than MOI alone, owing to benefits of TaylorMade's patented Inverted Cone Technology

FAQ's

How was TaylorMade able to incorporate four MWT ports and 26 grams of movable weight into a 460 cc clubhead with the r7 SuperQuad, when it could do no better than two cartridge ports and 14 grams in the r7 460?
TaylorMade engineers explored new ways to put our Ultra-Thin Wall technology to use throughout the clubhead. That led to using UTW in the structure of the MWT cartridge ports and even the hosel, allowing four cartridge ports instead of two, and allowing 26 grams of movable weight instead of 14.

Given the expanded use of Ultra-Thin Wall technology throughout the clubhead, is there concern that the structure could fail during normal use?
Although TaylorMade engineers have pushed the use of UTW Technology to new heights, the integrity of the clubhead has been thoroughly tested and is completely sound.

What's the difference between MOI and "effective MOI"?
MOI stands for Moment of Inertia, and is calculated using a standardized formula set forth by the USGA. MOI generally relates to a clubhead's ability to resist twisting on off-center hits. The more the clubhead twists, the more ball speed is lost, and the shorter the shot. "Effective MOI" is TaylorMade's term for a driver's ability to reduce ball speed loss and promote distance on mis-hits by virtue of both the MOI of the head and the positive effects of Inverted Cone Technology.
