New for 2007, the
Titleist PT 906F2 Fairway Wood (L/H Graphite); new, Tour-inspired Titleist fairway metals which raise the bar for long game performance.
Overview: Tour-inspired Multi-Relief Sole, square face angle, and forward
centre of gravity (COG) location for a neutral ball flight and maximum shot control.
Key Features:
Tour-inspired Multi-Relief Sole provides a crisp, solid contact from a variety of turf conditions. This new sole design provides greater ground clearance at the trailing edge of the sole to minimise turf resistance, compared to the prior generation of fairway metal woods, and in turn ensures that the ground-sole contact point remains forward, toward the leading edge of the club. Maintaining a forward ground-sole contact point improves directional control and ball flight by reducing the potential of the club to bounce or skip into the ball - especially from closely mown fairways - for players who play the ball forward in the stance or for players who sweep the ball from the turf with a shallow attack angle.
Multi-material Construction; the new 906F2 fairway metals utilise a multi-material construction - a 431 stainless steel body, with a separate 275 Carpenter Steel face insert - for maximum ball speed and a hot, lively feel. A repositioned weight bed in the sole of the body optimises the CG forward, closer to the face for less draw bias than prior generation fairway metals, thus promoting a neutral ball flight that allows the player to dictate the shot shape.
Wider Face Area & Square Set-up offers greater forgiveness and playability, while full-length score lines across the face provide more consistent spin from longer grass or wet conditions. The Tour-preferred Titleist pear shaped profile, with a perfectly square face angle, delivers the looks and confidence better players demand.
Bore-thru Design positions the tip of the shaft lower and closer to the hitting area for better feel and greater stability at impact.
Available Lofts: Three different loft specifications: 13° (strong #3 wood); 15° (traditional #3 wood); and, 18° (#5 wood).
Stock Shafts:
Titleist 4375 Fairway: The Titleist 4375 is a versatile mid-weight fairway shaft with a mid flex point that produces a medium trajectory. Provides an excellent combination of distance, feel, and control. A good choice for players with a smooth tempo.
Aldila NV 75 Fairway: The NV 75 Fairway is a lightweight shaft with a mid/high flex point, stiff tip, and medium butt. Designed for players seeking a penetrating trajectory, low/medium spin, and control in a medium weight shaft. Reduces launch angle and brings ball flight down.
UST Proforce V2 85 Fairway: The Proforce V2 85 Fairway is a mid weight shaft with a high flex point, stiff tip, and a medium butt. This is the fairway version of the Proforce V2 85 driver shaft and it shares the same performance characteristics. Designed for aggressive players with quicker tempos seeking a lower trajectory and spin.
Stock Grip: Titleist Tour Velvet Rubber (round w/logo underneath).
Headcover: Yes, included.
